How to delete files from various file hosting websites

Deleting files is easy, if you're honest. If you're the person deleting files, give your correct email so you can reply to them if asked. If you're doing it on behalf of someone, always put in the email or report abuse page that the girl in question, is in fact under the age of 18, was recorded illegally AND or, blackmailed into showing on webcam.

Make sure you always include the link to the file you're deleting and make it sound as if you're suicidal.

Being recorded

Now days with torrents, other applications and websites. It's very easy for anyone to get free copies of programs that record webcams.

Pretty much every social webcam site, for kids OR adults.. There's always someone recording your webcam, for whatever reason. The chance to catch you doing something funny, the chance to catch you in various states of undress. Whatever the reason, it's illegal and morally wrong but it happens 99% of the time.

If you're lucky, your video will get put into a collection and hopefully lost over time. If you're not so lucky, it'll get traded round various private sites or between paedophiles hiding in secret. If you're really unfortunate you'll end up on something like AnonIB for the whole world to see. The reason i say unfortunate to AnonIB is because the website/community is made up of paedophiles, blackmailers and more paedophiles.

If you care about chatroom safety and you don't want to become the subject of blackmail or a police investigation when these paedophiles have their computers confiscated, don't get naked on webcam.

That's right, i said.. DON'T GET NAKED ON WEBCAM.

Clicking of links, downloading of files

Chatroom safety takes on many forms, from keeping yourself covered up in front of the webcam, not giving out personal information to potential predators that can be used against you, to not clicking links or downloading files from people you don't know or trust.

One of the reasons my computer has been virus free for many years now is because I don't click links no matter what the circumstances. I've seen a lot of spam' in chat rooms where certain members try to trick people into clicking links. They do this by making the links have names specific to a certain topic. You can also get links shortened with websites which gives the impression it's from a totally different address but all it is, is a redirection website.

Using this website will give you a breakdown of any link you want to checkout first. It will list everything that's on the site without actually having to visit it yourself. http://validator.w3.org/ (can be found on google)

Another scheme hackers and sexual predators use to con' their victims into receiving files is to make the trojan or virus look like a video and change the name so it references the person they're trying to infect. For example, if my name was Chloe, the file name might be chloenakedwebcam.AVI.scr (scr does the same job as .exe but gives off a different icon via windows. Usually used for screen savers)

Myspace - Keeping it for frends only

I'll add this picture to give you an idea behind what i'm about to breifly talk about..

One of the issues with Myspace and internet safety is the people that use it love to have really big friends lists. Unlike facebook which is mainly for people you know, Myspace is a hunting ground for sexual predators, fake guys, girls and freaks in general. That said, there are genuine people on there.. I'm just a bit more sceptical than most.

Blackmailing is often done using Myspace, or other social websites. This might be new to some and blatantly obvious to others, but it's really common if you're apart of chat rooms where you interact with a lot of users at any one time.

If a girl or boy is recorded on webcam, or pictures were given out of a sexual nature. The blackmailer gets access to that users Myspace friends list and threatens to tell everyone about what they get up to, or at worst, posts the media they obtained to friends and family.

My only advice to anyone that's been involved in blackmail such as this.. The blackmailer has whatever information/media he has on you, there's no need to give him more ammunition. Block the person, report him on whatever chat platform you use. Make your Myspace friends only, don't add anyone from the chat rooms you use because a lot of them are fake, videos or weird people that pray on the innocent for a sexual fix. Also, inform your parents. They will be a little bit hurt at first but they will be able to help. And finally, for internet safety, keep logs of ALL your conversations.

Well this is the start of something that I'll try to keep on top of. I DO like blogging and I've been online long enough now to have an understanding of how most of it works. The blog is going to be based on (like the title says) Chat Room safety. Seeing as that's where most of the problems occur. Things I'll be covering in later blogs:

I frequent a few chat websites and i'm appalled at the standards these websites set on administration. The prime example of this is stickam.com (which is getting better, even tho it's taken many many years).
